Celebrating my big 70 birthday.  A camping/quilt shop trip, planned by my sweet hubby, around Lake Michigan and to Lake Superior.

In the Holland Channel.

Lake Michigan was wonderful.  The water was warm and I loved walking along barefooted.

My brother Merle and Marlinda were caretakers for two weeks this summer.

Big Sable Point Lighthouse, Ludington, MI

We climbed to the top, 114 steps. Beautiful view, lovely interior. Caretakers live here from May to October.

These two pictures are from Ludington State Park.

There is nothing like a good camp fire.

Lake Michigan at Petoseky State Park,

We had lovely weather and beautiful sunsets for this whole trip.

Tunnel of Trees Drive , Yes, we did this with the motor home.

Crossing into the UP on the Mackinac Bridge.  It was windy so we had to drive 20 MPH.

Love this basket, a gift from my sweetie, contains the fabric purchased on this trip.

Lake Superior-we had to wear sweatshirts.

Our last camping spot was at McClain State Park - right on the bank of Lake Superior.  WOW, was it gorgeous. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. We stayed here 2 days.

We went for a drive to the northern most point in Michigan last night. The clouds put on a show for us.

Our last light house: Copper Harbor, on a most northern point of Michigan.

When we leave the Lakes, we will have great and beautiful memories.
