Yesterday we spent the last day in Florida at the beach. Siesta Key was warm, white and just lovely. Here are Wilbur, daughter Theresa and her daughter Meredith.

The evening was spent with Wilbur's Brother Stan and his wife Diane, and his son Steve and wife Brenda, who were here from Iowa.
Meredith was making designs in the sand - no, she did not have help, It took 49 handfuls to make the proper shape!

Today, we leave Florida and head toward home. We plan to be home by Sunday night. We are leaving a week early because IMS Boys Basketball is going to State for playoffs on Monday afternoon. We listened to the game on KCII FM (Washington) on the Internet, two weeks ago and heard them win their berth to State. Our Son-in-law is one of the coaches.

Today we went to Cocoa Beach. Burrrrrrrrr! It was cold, but when you are young or is it young at heart you went into the water anyway. Sweatshirts and Bikini, a great combination!

Wilbur spent the whole afternoon flying kites. He is quite good at keeping the kites in air for long periods of time, while doing all kinds of loops and twists and sideway flying. I tried to get a picture but the kite moved so fast it was very difficult to get the camera lens to the correct spot.

We had a good day at Brush Gardens yesterday. We got there at 10:20 and left when the gates closed at 6:00. We were cold, cold and cold but we still enjoyed ourselves. The crowds were not large, so the lines where short. Theresa rode on some of the wild rides. We saw lots of animals and birds.
There were several areas for kids to crawl around and discover! This area had a sign that said that adults over the age of 13 must be accompanied by a child. Meredith loved all these ropey crawl arounds.

Quilting is a hobby that I love so even when I am on vacation, I cut out and plan quilts. Wilbur is a real dear and never complains about stopping at quilt shops.

This is the Gracie fabric by Aunt Grace (reproduction fabric) that I have been working on and off for several years. I have most of the strips and the center Grace cut out and am ready to put it together into blocks.
I have been working on some quilt blocks while vacationing. In this picture I have cut out and pinned together blocks of various boy interests and I am ready to sew them together when we get home.

Today we are back in the cold again. It is 43 degrees. I think it will warm up by noon and then be warmer the rest of the week. Daughter Theresa and her daughter Meredith arrived late Saturday night, just ahead of the storms on the east coast. They flew through Atlanta, and by Sunday morning, many flights were delayed. We are so glad they made it through that airport. Last night we picked some oranges and tangerines.

Yesterday, we went to a Flea Market and out to a great Chinese Buffet. Theresa was thrilled because they had a sushi chef.

Today we are off to Busch Garden's in Tampa. I will have some pictures tomorrow.

We celebrated Valentines Day by going to the outrageous show at Cirque Du Soleil. We really enjoyed the evening. We ate at Chevys before we went at 6:00 - good Mexican food.

On Thursday we went to the Florida Flywheeler Show with my cousins Doris and Alvin Marner from Indiana. We had a lovely day and we saw an antique tractor parade and also an antique car parade with tons of old riding lawn mowers of every color and discription. The most interesting thing of the whole show was seeing what ingenious motorized carts/carriers with seats that people came up with as modes of transperation for navigating the grounds. Any style and any seat was acceptable as long as it was "safe".

We came home to a wonderful sunset over our lake.
We are parked right beside this lake - Small Lake Agnus.

We are camped here just two spots from our good friends, Walt and Jo. We have enjoyed this park and the friendly people in it. We are still in shock that we are at the age of retirement and that we have spent almost two months here in Florida.

We have seen Phil and Dorothy from home a few times. On Thursday they came from Sarasota, where they are camping, and we spent the day together.

Wilbur went with the Swantz's to Disney one day and they got to see the parade in the afternoon. which was good.

We went to Cocoa Beach but we did not find any bottles with our own jeanie - for those who remember the I Dream of Jeanie TV show.

We are back from Mobile. It was so good to reconnect with many MDS friends.

Today we are going to the beach but we got up to 43 degrees outside. Could be a bit cold!!! Maybe it just to say we went and to experience a little of the waves and do some shelling.

We are still having a great time and its so good having some family here. Last night we had dinner with Ervin and Erma and their daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Lynn. We ate at Sweet Tomato. Good and fresh food.
